Feed the Fold
Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 28, 2026
Feed the Fold ("we," "us") helps people organize meal trains — a coordinated flow of home-cooked meals brought to someone going through a big life moment. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. We try to collect as little as possible and to use it only to make the app work.
Information we collect
- Account information. When you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive your name, email address, and (where provided) a profile photo. If you use Sign in with Apple's "Hide My Email," we only ever see Apple's private relay address.
- Content you create. Event details (title, dates, notes), the meals you sign up to bring, recipes you add, and the recipient preferences a host enters (such as dietary needs, drop-off preferences, and blocked dates).
- Purchase records. If you buy an additional event, we record that the purchase happened — the Apple transaction identifier, the product purchased, and the date. Payment is handled entirely by Apple; we never see or store your card or payment details.
- Diagnostics and usage. We use Google Firebase (Analytics and Crashlytics) to understand how the app performs and to diagnose crashes. This includes app-event and device information such as device model, OS version, and crash logs.
How we use information
- To provide and operate the app — creating events, coordinating who brings what and when, and showing the right information to the right people.
- To schedule delivery reminders. These notifications are generated and stored locally on your device; we do not run a server that pushes notifications to you.
- To process and validate in-app purchases.
- To keep the app reliable — fixing crashes and improving performance.
How information is shared
- With others in your meal train. By design, the app coordinates a group. An organizer's name and contact note are shown to the people they invite; a host's recipient preferences are shown to contributors so they know what to bring. Only people who have the event's invite link can see this.
- Service providers. We use Google Firebase for authentication, database, cloud functions, hosting, analytics, and crash reporting, and Apple for sign-in and payments. They process data on our behalf under their own privacy policies (Google, Apple).
- Legal reasons. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the safety and rights of our users.
- We do not sell your personal information.
Data retention and deletion
You can delete your account at any time from within the app (Settings → Delete Account). Deleting your account removes your profile and the events you organize, along with those events' sign-ups. Some records may persist briefly in backups or where retention is required by law. Note that meals you signed up to bring on someone else's event may remain visible to that organizer as part of their event history.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest in Google Firebase. No method of storage or transmission is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and limit access to it.
Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you have rights over your personal information — including the right to access a copy of it, correct it, delete it, or receive it in a portable form. You can delete your account and its data yourself in the app (Settings → Delete Account), and for anything else you can email us at support at feedthefold dot com. We won't discriminate against you for exercising these rights, and we may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.
We do not sell your personal information or share it for advertising, and we don't use it to target ads to you or track you across other apps and websites. Our analytics are used only to keep the app reliable — so there is nothing to opt out of for "Do Not Track" or Global Privacy Control signals.
Where your data is processed
Feed the Fold is operated in the United States, and our service providers (Google Firebase and Apple) process and store data there. If you use the app from outside the U.S., your information will be transferred to and processed in the U.S., where data-protection laws may differ from those where you live.
Children
Feed the Fold is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll revise the "last updated" date above, and significant changes will be reflected in the app or on this page.
